SEO Copywriting Tips: Article Syndication

One of the best ways to increase your SEO is by writing and syndicating informational articles on the Internet. For example, a real estate agent in San Francisco, wanting to rank high for “san francisco real estate”, should syndicate 10 articles on subjects such as: How to Negotiate Closing Costs when Purchasing San Francisco Real Estate.

The articles should be informational, with no call-to-action. These are not sales pieces, these are articles meant to establish you as an authority on the subject, while providing your readers (and possible leads) with valuable information. In turn, you receive one-way links to your site, and increased SEO.

Notes:

  • The articles should be around 750-850 words.
  • The subject matter should be related to your keyword or business, but not necessarily include that keyword. For example, the San Francisco real estate agency could also syndicate articles such as: “Best Schools for Special Needs Children in San Francisco”. You’re still targeting “San Francisco”, as well as providing information to your customers.
  • Post the original articles on your site in a resources section, and link back to them. This will establish you as the originator of the content, and thereby the authority.

Syndicated articles continue to grow. That is, once they are syndicated and links established, they remain on the net forever, and will continue to increase the one-way links to your site.

Just remember, come up with unique articles. Don’t write an article that’s been done a million times. Stand out.

Web Content Tips: How Many Words on a Page?

When writing web content, you need to write for both the reader and the search engine. If you focus on one, you will not be able to attract the other. So, you should aim for a balance between these two “audiences.”

The first way is to make the writing crisp, quick and accessible. Face it, people do not read each and every word on a web page. They skim it for important, pertinent information. So, utilize bullet points and short sentences, and make the word count of your page between 250 and 500 words. The fewer the better, but you need at least 250 to be considered a valid page.

But what about those landing pages that run on and on and on for like 3000 words? Those pages that sell a single product or money-making ventures? While its nice to have a lot of information, the message gets drowned out. That one single page should be divided into five or six pages, allowing for quick reference. Who actually reads those long pages? No one. They find the bullet points, the bold headings, etc. and try to get as much information with as little reading as possible. So, we writers should make it easy for them by dividing that information into digestible chunks.

Great New Testimonial

We got this great testimonial from Brian at GotEngines.com. They sell used engines online. Thank you Brian!

Devin,
This testimonial is long over due and I couldn’t put it off any
longer. I want everyone to know what a goldmine Certified Copywriters
has been for our business growth. They have always gone above and
beyond to provide me with excellent results and skyrocket our organic
search results.

When in business, it always comes down to results. I have wasted
several thousands of dollars on incompetent companies who promise me
the world and never even complete their projects. Certified
Copywriter’s continue to under-promise and over-deliver time after
time.

It is very difficult for a business owner such as myself to know what
SEO company to work with. There are so many SEO companies out there
and most will all give you the same song and dance. The question is,
“Can they really help make an impact on your rankings, or are they
just a silver tongue salesman feeding you a bunch of hot air?”

Luckily for me, a friend of mine turned me on to Certified
Copywriters. I was extremely happy to find a company that can write
KILLER ORIGINAL COPY, help make valuable suggestions and improve my
SEO, and GET THE JOB DONE. After working with Devin and his company
and seeing what kind of results one should expect to see from an SEO
firm, I had a lot of pent up anger from all my previous dollars wasted
with other companies. I must have given several of the other companies
that took advantage of my lack of SEO knowledge a good laugh when they
took my credit card number. But now with my organic rankings with the
help of Devin and his team at Certified Copywriters, I get to do the
laughing…all the way to the bank!

Working with Certified Copywriters is a no-brainer for anyone looking
to take their website to the next level. Anyone trying to find the
best company to work with on their SEO strategies and copywriting
projects needs to stop wasting their valuable time and start working
with the best. You’d be crazy to pass up an opportunity to crush your
competition at such an affordable price.

Thanks a million Devin…literally!

Best Regards,
Brian Hanson

SEO Writing Tips: Use those Headers!

When inserting keywords into your content, you want to put them in areas visible to the reader and the search engine.

For instance, inserting a keyword into a header tag will increase its visibility. Try to incorporate that keyword inconspicuously into a header. For example, if your realty company was targeting “Home Loans” the header might read: “Home Loans for First Time Buyers”. Put it in H1 HTML tags.

Its wise to use headers throughout the text. One lump of text is hard to read, and most people skim pages anyway. They will check the headers, and then choose a paragraph to read. So, make it easier for the readers. Use headers before each paragraph. This will please both the readers and search engines.

Here’s an example:

SEO Copywriting Tips

SEO Copywriting is not a science, but a method. There are many tricks and tips to utilize, but ultimately, it is not an exact science. It evolves and changes, to coincide with the changes in readers and search engine logarithms.

Copywriting for Readers and Search Engines

The best SEO copywriting is that which is attractive to both users and search engines. Keywords must be placed inconspicuously in the text, so it does not distract from the main message of the page. etc. etc. etc. etc.
